Dark Prison is Northern Nevada's largest haunted house, built inside the real, decommissioned Nevada State Prison in Carson City. This is not a movie set. It is quarried sandstone cut by convicts, scarred by fires, and patched back together for another century of stories.
In 1862 the Nevada Territorial Legislature turned the Warm Springs Hotel into the state's first penitentiary. Over the next 150 years the walls absorbed jailbreaks, riots, a full inmate casino, and America's first gas-chamber execution. Today three linear walk-through haunts fill the cellblocks and yard with live actors, cinematic sets, and custom props built in-house by VEXA FX.

Dark Prison is produced by Dark Corner Creative, founded in 2021, and operates inside the decommissioned Nevada State Prison in partnership with the Nevada State Prison Preservation Society. In 1862 the Nevada Territorial Legislature turned the Warm Springs Hotel into the state's first penitentiary. Props and sets are built in-house by sister studio VEXA FX, winner of Best New Exhibitor at TransWorld 2026.
Holly co-founded Dark Corner Creative in 2021 and leads the creative vision behind Dark Prison, growing it from a home haunt into Northern Nevada's largest attraction.
Dustin ran a home haunt in his garage for more than a decade before co-founding Dark Corner Creative. He leads operations, technology, and production across Dark Prison and sister prop studio VEXA FX.
Guin manages day-to-day operations and is the primary press contact for interviews, filming, and photo access.
Ryan sets Dark Prison's long-term strategy and leads the build. He turns each season's concept into a standing attraction, running set construction and load-in at the Nevada State Prison and keeping the show on schedule from an empty cellblock to opening night.
