Dark Prison — Northern Nevada's most chilling haunted house experience set inside the actual walls of the decommissioned Nevada State Prison — reopens its gates for three nights only this Mother's Day Weekend. Halfway to Halloween is a limited-run event featuring all-new scares, reimagined scenes, and the same immersive horror that made the fall season a sellout sensation.

From the creators of the award-winning Dark Corner Haunted House, this isn't a watered-down preview — it's a fully produced theatrical haunt experience with live actors and custom-built props and sets by VEXA FX, the team that took home Best New Exhibitor at TransWorld 2026, the haunted attraction industry's largest trade show. Most of the animatronics, scenic elements, and atmospheric effects are designed and fabricated in-house, giving Dark Prison a look and feel you won't find anywhere else.

Guests can explore the entertainment zone with interactive midway games, grab a drink at The Shiv Bar (21+) inside the prison's historic muster room, and snap photos with roaming characters in the prison yard.

This place isn't a movie set — it's quarried sandstone cut by convicts, scarred by fires, and patched back together for another century of stories. In 1862 the Nevada Territorial Legislature turned the Warm Springs Hotel into the state's first penitentiary. Over the next 150 years the walls absorbed jailbreaks, riots, a full-blown inmate casino, and America's first gas-chamber execution, forging the haunted legend you're about to walk through.
