RENO, NV. There’s a new Halloween horror prop house breaking into the haunted house attraction scene with its home in Reno, Nevada. VEXA is a prop fabrication studio born from over 15 years of boots-on-the-ground experience in the haunt industry. VEXA doesn’t just build props, they build nightmares that survive the season.Dark Corner Creative, the company behind Dark Corner Haunted House in downtown Reno and Dark Prison Haunted House inside the Nevada State Prison, has started a new Halloween horror prop shop. “After five years of building our own props we realized we had something worth sharing” says Holly Spahr, Owner and Creative Director behind VEXA. The props are high quality and handmade from scratch, even the molds used are livecasted from friends and family of VEXA or were hand sculpted by the talented artists on the team who collectively have decades of experience in the haunted house industry.VEXA props are made for haunters, by haunters. Every piece in VEXA’s catalog has been “Haunt-Tested,” ensuring that it’s built to withstand the environment and highlight any scene in a haunted house. “It’s been a dream come true to make props that scare the life out of our haunt patrons, and that dream is only growing bigger now that we get to share that same excitement with haunts around the country” says Matthew Hawkins, Lead Fabricator of VEXA. The first two collections VEXA is offering are “Devotion”, a series of props resembling an exorcism gone wrong, and “Bio-Synthetic”, props with different tech elements that play on the fear of the future of AI.VEXA will debut these collections and more at TransWorld's Halloween & Attractions Show, a business-to-business trade show taking place in St. Louis, MO. But this is more than a business opportunity. It’s a lifetime goal for the artists involved. Owner, fabricator and CMO of VEXA, Dustin Ring, says it best himself, “I’ve spent over a decade walking the TransWorld floor as a buyer and fan, soaking in everything this industry has to offer. This year we walk in as exhibitors. VEXA is what happens when a kid who grew up making art and watching horror films builds a haunted attraction and discovers he’s surrounded by a team talented enough to bring an even bigger vision to life. That’s a lifetime of loving this industry coming full circle.”Visit the VEXA booth at TransWorld in St. Louis from March 26 - 29, 2026.
